Volume II

bcb723 Bought this on a whim based on some of the musical comparisons... what a great decision. This is hard but catchy as hell with riffs hitting you from all sides. But when I heard the lyrics "vortex of fire" my fantasy radar went off and I dug in a little further. Ongoing conceptual trilogy, beautifully disturbing cover art, spaced out effects...*checks further* wait there's a fucking companion sci-fi novel?! Ok - now I'm 100% on board with this shit. Favorite track: The Entity.

gebs This record has no shortage of furious energy, and it never lacks for riffs. Each song is a showcase of guitar-work that fans of Mastodon will love. Favorite track: Driven by Hunger.

noahmotion This album rocks very, very hard, and it rewards repeated listening. One of the best albums I've heard in quite a while. It's got some nice Red Fang vibes at times, particularly the combination of growly, gravelly and more melodic vocals, but it's not derivative. Also, just to be clear, I love Red Fang, so this comparison is intended to be high praise. Favorite track: The Entity.

about

The incisive and anthemic metal on Hyborian's "Vol. II" is rich with propulsive riffs, lean and infectious arrangements. Join The Traveller for the explosive force of "Planet Destructor," the rampaging "Driven By Hunger," and the abounding arsenal of "Stormbound." HYBORIAN bears down hard on their mission for sonic conquest, and sophomore album 'Vol. II' is nothing short of world-class metal.
