Volume II

noahmotion This album rocks very, very hard, and it rewards repeated listening. One of the best albums I've heard in quite a while. It's got some nice Red Fang vibes at times, particularly the combination of growly, gravelly and more melodic vocals, but it's not derivative. Also, just to be clear, I love Red Fang, so this comparison is intended to be high praise.

chipkali Probably listened to it more than 20 times or so since it came out. The production is excellent, it's groovy and crushing. Just the ticket. Like metal? Listen to this. Don't argue. You'll thank me.

oliviervp This giant beast of a metal record hit me like a bulldozer. It's thrashy and melodic at the same time. Highly addictive soundscapes with just the right amount of aggressiveness. I haven't heard the first volume from this trilogy yet but I'll be checking it out soon. Must be an awesome live band as well. Favorite track: Planet Destructor.

Colin M. Hyborian return sounding bigger, better, and meaner than ever before, and they certainly stick the landing. Favorite track: In the Hall of the Travellers.

meh-tal meta-l Yes, Hyborian sounds similar to other bands at first listen. But they are actually quite unique. There is a backbone of sludginess, but it doesn't dwell entirely in the muck by hyping up some aggressive thrashy riffs, ampllfying the carnage with extremely well-executed solos, and may I say, sprinkling in the occasional neck-breaking breakdown...Really awesome album. Favorite track: Driven by Hunger.

about

The incisive and anthemic metal on Hyborian's "Vol. II" is rich with propulsive riffs, lean and infectious arrangements. Join The Traveller for the explosive force of "Planet Destructor," the rampaging "Driven By Hunger," and the abounding arsenal of "Stormbound." HYBORIAN bears down hard on their mission for sonic conquest, and sophomore album 'Vol. II' is nothing short of world-class metal.
